THE PALACE THEATRE

Inspired by the 1951 Oscar winning movie.

“An American in Paris,” the new musical adaptation of the 1951 Gene Kelly film that wove a plot around George Gershwin’s orchestral work of the same name, will come to Broadway in the spring, the show’s producers announced on Thursday. Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, the musical will begin previews at the Palace Theater on March 13, 2015, and will open on April 12.
The Broadway run, which has been anticipated since the show was announced last October, follows a world premiere limited engagement at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, where previews begin on Nov. 22.

Much of the Paris cast will appear on Broadway, including the New York City Ballet principal dancer Robert Fairchild as Jerry Mulligan (the singing and dancing role that Kelly played in the film) and Leanne Cope, of the Royal Ballet, as Lise Dassin, as well as Veanne Cox, Jill Paice, Brandon Uranowitz and Max von Essen.

You'll feel the earth move !

Long before she was Carole King, chart-topping music legend, she was Carol Klein, Brooklyngirl with passion and chutzpah. She fought her way into the record business as a teenager and, by the time she reached her twenties, had the husband of her dreams and a flourishing  career writing hits for the biggest acts in rock 'n' roll. But it wasn't until her personal life began  o crack that she finally managed to find her true voice.

Beautiful tells the inspiring true story of King's remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of  a hit songwriting  team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.

The hilarious and provocative Hand to God centers on shy, inquisitive student Jason, who finds an outlet for his burgeoning creativity at the Christian Puppet Ministry in the devoutly religious, relatively quiet small town of Cypress, Texas. Jason's complicated relationships with the town pastor, the school bully, the girl next door and—most especially—his mother are thrown into further upheaval when Jason's hand puppet Tyrone—once soft-spoken—takes on a shocking and dangerously irreverent personality all its own. As Tyrone's influence over Jason steadily grows, Hand to God explores the startlingly fragile nature of faith, morality, and the ties that bind us.
